Mike McGonegal for the Michigan House

Mike McGonegal is running for the Michigan House of Representatives from the 66th District, and this is his official campaign blog. It is monitored and posted b y his Communications Director.

Mike is clearly the best candidate in side-by-side comparison

We have offered you plenty of instances of where Mike stands on the issues and other reasons to vote for him, and we have also provided more than enough – far too many actually – examples of our opponent’s so-called “missteps” and his ethically challenged record on why he should not be retuned to Lansing. Here is one more example of why you should vote for Mike. Here is a side-by-side comparison of the two candidates from the Gannett voter’s guide, the mega-chain that owns USA Today, the Press & Argus and the Detroit Free Press. I hope this was not what the Press & Argus based its endorsement on instead of the traditional one-on-one endorsement interview. If that’s the case then I am even more shocked.

Mike said he generally favors it, but he does not want to link increases to the rate of inflation or link it to anything. He does not support the ballot issue in its present form, but he strongly supports public education. As he has said before, education will be the magnet that attracts and retains high-paying, high-tech and non-exportable jobs to Michigan.

Dan Wholihan is Chris Ward so if his stupid web cite shows the other guy winning in the 66th then so be it. Chris and Dan. And what is more is that Mike didn't leave his wife and run off with that lobbyist babe.

Big Kahuna- What gives with Mr.Ward and this girl friend buisness. Does he or does he not cheat on his wife or do we label it a mis-step.

As I have said before, unlike the other blog in Livingston County this is a free speech zone, and as such I will not censor anyone or delete any posts. However, I do not appreciate those kind of personal attacks in a campaign. It’s even worse when you post them anonymously. Please refrain from that kind of post in the future.
We have gone after Mr. Ward’s unethical record and we will continue to do so, but we have never nor will this ever engage in any personal attacks in this campaign.

Ward is adamantly against gay marriage but is adamantly in favor of 'open' heterosexual marriage. You know, 'open' in the way of hypocritical Republicans terminology along the lines of Newt Gingrich-3 marriages, Rudy Guliani-3 marriages, John McCain-on his 2nd, soon to trade-up and their favorite voice of reason, Rush Limbaugh-3 marriages.

You see, Republicans think gays are too promiscuous so they don't look very highly at people who cheat on their spouces and leave them when times are tough and there's another good-looking babe available.

They sure make great role-models, those Republicans. Ward is no different.

What an absolute load of BS and misinformation, Kahuna. You have heard plenty of reasons to vote for Mike McGonegal on this blog, but your mind is so closed there is no reason that will ever open it and get you to vote for the best candidate.

Please, please tell me just one thing “Mr. Ward has done for Livingston County that you like.”

I have lots and lots of “specific questions on his proposals or voting record.” They are posted here, and neither he nor any one else has answered any of them. He doesn’t have to answer for his questionable ethics because you and people like you continue to give him a free pass and not hold him accountable for his ethically challenged record. What’s even sadder is you as a taxpayer are not demanding answers from him even after “misstep” after “misstep.”

Why are you not angry that he tried to give a developer more than $9 million of our money to help his development, he tried to give away valuable public land to another developer or his bill that tried to bilk wine consumers and wineries to just name a few?

I appreciate your support and continued posting here Chris, but as Mike and I have said before the personal stuff needs to stop.

He and his supporters are trying to call our legitimate exposing of Ward’s lack of ethics and shoddy record as personal attacks even though they know it’s not because his record is so bad. They badly want us to stop before people start to catch on to his taxpayer-funded gifts to his supporters. As you can see from Kahuna’s ridiculous rant, they are looking to dismiss it as a “smear,” and this stuff about his personal life will only help them dismiss the exposing of his record as a "smear."

Full of what? That's really your answer to my posts?

You’re right. Past experience should have made me realize you are incapable of making a reasoned, fact-based argument.
